Your Booth Lasts a Few Days. Its Digital Presence Can Last Much Longer

Design, construction, products and information come together for just a few days inside a trade show booth. Capturing it in 3D can preserve the completed space and turn it into an interactive experience that continues presenting the brand after the event.

A project designed to exist for a very short time

A booth may begin months earlier as an idea. It goes through design, revisions, fabrication and installation until the graphics are finally in place, the lighting is working and the products are ready.

During the show, the space comes alive. Visitors arrive, the company introduces itself, solutions are presented, videos are played and demonstrations take place.

Then everything is dismantled.

Photography preserves selected moments and video can tell the story of the project. A 3D capture adds another possibility: being able to step back inside the booth after the physical space no longer exists.

A digital booth does not have to be an empty space

Preserving the design has value, but much more happened inside those walls.

Matterport's interactive tools can associate information with specific points in the experience. A product can have a Tag with additional details. A display can lead to a video. A featured element can link to a dedicated page, while a call to action can direct visitors to the company's website or contact channel.

The key is not to confuse interactivity with clutter.

An experience containing dozens of unnecessary interactive points can be less useful than one with a small number of carefully selected elements.

The question is not how many Matterport Tags we can add. The question is what a visitor should be able to discover while exploring the booth.

The exhibitor can welcome visitors again

There is an especially interesting opportunity because the content can also be reused through the exhibitor's own channels.

While the booth is still standing, the exhibitor can record a short presentation there: who the company is, what it is presenting and what visitors should know about its products or services.

The exhibitor produces and provides that content. It can later be used on social media, a website or other channels and, when the format and configuration support it, Virtual Space can incorporate it into the booth experience.

A future visitor can then enter the digital booth and encounter the explanation in the same spatial context where the product was originally presented.

The model no longer shows only what the booth looked like. It can also preserve part of what the company wanted to communicate from within it.

Explore freely or follow a path

Not every digital visitor behaves the same way. Some want to explore freely; others prefer to be shown the most important points first.

Matterport tools can support both approaches. The experience can remain freely navigable while a guided sequence highlights selected points when appropriate.

Different views and measurement tools may also provide additional ways to understand the space when enabled for the project.

Technology gives us options. Our job is to choose the ones that genuinely improve the experience.

Think about the physical and digital booth together

The opportunity becomes greater when the digital capture is planned before the event.

We can coordinate the capture for a time when the booth is complete while identifying which materials the exhibitor wants to prepare for its digital version.

The result can be embedded on a website, shared directly or retained as part of a portfolio of previous exhibitions while the model remains available.

Virtual Space can produce and configure the 3D experience, interactive points, content and links. When a project requires a custom website, platform or software integration, that layer can be developed separately by Servitec GyG, the software development division.

A booth is built with a dismantling date. Its ability to communicate does not have to end on the same day.

If you are preparing a booth for an upcoming trade show or exhibition, talk to us before the event about how to preserve it and what you want it to continue communicating afterward.
